My Beloved Spousal Unit found one of these 1930esque Sterlings for me at Goodwill recently. I didn’t know they were part of a design series. I rather like that name “Speedline.” It’s the most aesthetically satisfying of all my machines.
Just got one of these in maroon and agree that they’re a thing of beauty and a joy forever. I’m also extremely pleased with the action on this one, and the bell seems strong enough. It’s many times a better typer than my Remington Streamliner–another that I see you’ve written about in the design/beauty context. That one is a beast to type on, but a keeper just for it’s spiffy looks.

Yes, I wish these would work out for me, because I think they’re gorgeous. Maybe I’ll find another one in the future. Is yours black or maroon?
I’ve found that kerosene works even better than denatured alcohol for freeing up sticky keys.
